Who is this learning opportunity for?
This workshop is aimed at a broad range of professionals and volunteers working with adults and young people, these include; children and family workers, health visitors, teachers, youth workers, students and the voluntary sector. This is an introductory course that will give you information about child protection looking at signs and symptoms, identifying risk and what your roles and responsibilities are in relationship to child care and protection.
Course structure and content
This is a half day workshop delivered by Dundee City Council Learning and Organisational Development Service and Children Services.
- To raise your awareness of Child Protection Issues
- To have an understanding of the different categories of abuse looking at areas of concern and how to identify them
- To gain an understanding of your own role in the child protection process. To know how to respond and what action you need to take if you are worried a child or young person who may be at risk of abuse, or are being abused.
