Health Inequalities and Prevention training sessions

Sessions can also be delivered to your staff at your workplace.

In 2015, Dundee Partnership commissioned a report on prevention through Integrated Care Funds, which resulted in the production of the “It’s My Job” toolkit. The toolkit focuses on primary and secondary aspects of prevention and promotes processes that are consistent with the roll out of social prescribing. The report strongly recommends that prevention is seen as relevant and important in the context of all staff roles, and is prioritised across services. This half day training session supports frontline staff to use the toolkit as a practical aid to identify how health inequalities and deprivation may affect their client groups and in what ways, explore to what extent they are adopting preventative approaches already and to recognise how they may be able to build on these to support clients further. The training session aims to support participants to:

  • Recognise vulnerable and at-risk individuals
  • Have a positive, exploratory conversation to identify the factors affecting them
  • Signpost people to supportive services and activities that could help
