Campy Growers – Garden Handy Person / Van Driver


Post Title: Garden handy person/van driver

Part Time: 12 hours per week £7,488 pro rata (£23,200 FT Equivalent)

Fixed Term: 1 year contract.


Responsible to: Campy Growers Committee

 This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Campy Growers and support a large community food growing project.  Working alongside the gardener, project development worker, trustees and volunteers you will be instrumental in providing practical, hands-on support, such as general maintenance, gardening and driving the electric van for veg box deliveries.

Our Aims are:

  • To advance health and wellbeing by facilitating access to growing opportunities and contributing to improved diet through increased access to fresh local produce in a natural environment
  • To promote environmental improvement including protecting and increasing biodiversity above and below the soil by adopting and promoting environmentally sustainable practices.
  • To advance education and skills, particularly related to food (growing cooking, eating) and by developing and hosting land-based educational programmes and courses such as gardening and environmental activities.

We are a community growing charity, focusing on food growing and horticultural activities.


Main Duties


  • Driver for CSA veg boxes.
  • General garden maintenance using materials and methods that are sustainable and ethically sourced and are in line with Campy Growers Charitable purposes
  • General repairs around the site
  • General garden carpentry such as assembling and maintaining structures
  • Support Gardener and Development worker with gardening duties as directed, such as weeding, planting and harvesting.
