The Tayside Infant Food Insecurity Pathway went live on Monday 3rd February 2025. The pathway has been developed in alignment with the Scottish Government ‘Guide to Responding to and Preventing Infant Food Insecurity in Scotland’ in order to support families during crisis who are unable to provide first stage formula milk for their infant. The pathway aims to provide a supportive resource to ensure parents and carers can access timely, sustainable support if they face food insecurity for their infant. It prioritises a cash first approach and upholds the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The pathway has been developed in partnership with NHS Tayside, Angus Council, Angus HSCP, Dundee Council, Dundee HSCP, P&K Council, P&K HSCP and Social Security Scotland.
The pathway is available on NHS Tayside’s public facing website –
