What is the CWC?
The Community Wellbeing Centre will be a place that will provide an immediate, compassionate response 24/7 to anyone in distress. The building will be based in Dundee City Centre on South Ward Road and run by a third sector organisation. This organisation will work closely with existing established mental health and wellbeing services. The centre will operate with a person centred approach to connect people with a full range of services and support including access to distress brief intervention and carer support. There will also be access to immediate specialist mental health assessment if needed.
DVVA’s role in the CWC is to ensure that people living in Dundee are fully informed about the centre and have the opportunity to have their say. DVVA make sure that the local community has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of the centre. DVVA chair the CWC Stakeholder group which informs the developments.
