Support from the RCA Trust

RCA Trust provides free and confidential support to people across Scotland who are affected by gambling-related harm. This includes people experiencing harm from their own gambling, as well as family members, friends and others affected by someone else’s gambling.
Gambling harm rarely exists in isolation. It can be closely connected to financial difficulties, debt, relationships, family life, mental wellbeing, housing, employment and social isolation – issues that you and the organisations within your local network may already be supporting people with.
It can also be a particularly hidden issue. Someone may never identify gambling as the reason they are seeking support, even when it is having a significant impact on their life. Having organisations and community workers who are aware of the signs and know where specialist support is available can therefore make a real difference.
That’s where RCA Trust can help. Alongside free one-to-one support, they offer gambling harm awareness sessions and training for organisations, helping staff and volunteers feel more confident recognising gambling-related harm, having conversations about it and knowing how to respond or signpost appropriately. See the below leaflets for more information –
If you are interested, please get in touch with Wallis Thornton at wthornton@rcatrust.org.uk to tell her more about your work and see if RCA Trust could support or complement it.
