Active Movers – free after-school programme for children in the Lochee Ward

Active Movers is a new free after-school physical activity programme for primary school children living within the Lochee Ward. Funded by the Community Regeneration Forum (CRF) and Dundee Partnership, Active Movers aims to provide fun and inclusive opportunities for children to be active, build confidence, develop movement skills, and make new friends within their local community.

Active Movers Sessions Start Date –Week beginning Monday 24 August

Monday – Lochee BB Hall (Bright Street)

  • 3.30pm – 4.30pm | P1-P3
  • 4.30pm – 5.30pm | P4-P7

Tuesday – Change Centre Dundee (South Rd)

  • 3.30pm – 5.00pm | P1-P7

Wednesday – Menzieshill CSH (Charleston Dr)

  • 3.30pm – 4.30pm | P1-P3
  • 4.30pm – 5.30pm | P4-P7

The programme is designed to be fun, welcoming and inclusive, helping children:

  • Increase physical activity levels
  • Improve confidence and wellbeing
  • Develop fundamental movement skills
  • Meet new friends
  • Enjoy positive after-school opportunities within their community

The programme is open to primary school-aged children from communities across the Lochee Ward, including:

  • Beechwood
  • Gowrie Park
  • Denhead of Gray
  • Clement Park/Foggyley
  • Pitalpin
  • Sutherland
  • Whorterbank
