Faith in Community are launching the new Worrying about money? leaflet for Dundee on Tuesday 6th October, 9.30am – 12.30pm at the Drumgeith Community Campus. You can book your spot here.
Refreshments will be available throughout the event, and there is free parking available on-site.
They are hosting this event during Challenge Poverty Week and invite representatives of projects, services and organisations who are engaging with or supporting people who are facing financial insecurity;
- They will be launching the new ‘Worrying About Money?’ signposting resource leaflet for Dundee (an updated version of the What Do I Do If…? Leaflet, which will also include translated and easy-read versions)
- They will do some interactive scenario-based exercises to explore how to identify someone who might have money worries, how to begin those conversations and to use the leaflet as a tool to provide cash first or income-focused support – helping people to find the advice they need to access any existing financial entitlements and to maximise their income.
- The session will also include updates from local advice agencies on their services and upcoming changes to be aware of (e.g new benefits), and the Independent Food Aid Network (IFAN) will explore cash first approaches to food insecurity
- There will also be an opportunity to network and share your experiences and best practice and take away some key resources
