A key part of our work is connecting the voices of lived experience with professionals, while also creating opportunities for professionals to network with each other. We facilitate open forums, welcoming anyone in the third sector or whose work relates to mental health, substance use, or peer support.
Third Sector Mental Health Forum
This group brings together third sector organisations working in mental health across Dundee and partners. It provides a space to share information, learn from one another, and work together to improve support for people experiencing mental health challenges.
The Forum has been running for over 15 years and typically has over 30 people attending each meeting. It is open to third sector organisations and meets every six weeks in Dundee. The Forum also supports links into wider mental health planning and decision-making within the city, through the Third Sector Matters standing items on both the Third Sector Mental Health Forum and the Mental Health Strategic Planning Group.
Third Sector Matters is a space for third sector organisations involved in mental health and wellbeing work in Dundee to share insights, experiences and emerging trends. Your input helps shape the conversations and decisions at the Mental Health Strategic Planning and Commissioning Group.

Substance Use Managers’ Forum
This group brings together third sector organisations in Dundee whose work relates to substance use. The group provides a space to share information, discuss developments affecting services, and consider issues impacting staff, volunteers, and the people they support.
Established by managers of third sector substance use services, the group supports third sector representation within the Dundee Alcohol and Drug Partnership and Adults at Risk, helping ensure sector and lived experience perspectives are reflected in local planning and decision-making.
In 2026, the group will change its name from the Substance Use Managers Group to reflect its wider membership and the involvement of representatives with authority to speak for their organisations, whether or not they hold formal management roles. The group meets every two months and is facilitated by Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action (DVVA).
