Applications and referrals are now open for the first Sports & Leisure Academy with Active Dundee. The 4 week sector-based work academy is for those looking to take their first steps towards a career in the sport and leisure industries with a focus on (but not limited to) Leisure Attendant, Sports Coach and Life Guard roles in Active Dundee (part of Leisure & Culture Dundee) Aquatics and Physical Activities teams. Discover Work partners and Active Dundee are working together to offer a unique opportunity including:
– Customer Service Qualification
– Sports Coaching Qualification
– First Aid Certificate
– Work Placements
– Guaranteed Interview upon completion
To be eligible for the course applicants must:
– Live in a Dundee City Council postcode – Find your local council – GOV.UK
– Be 16+ years old (as of 01/04/2025)
– Have the right to live and work in UK
– Be unemployed or underemployed (not enough hours, low pay, etc.)
– Be able to commit to all days of the course and be flexible for placements hours
– Be interested in working in Sports & Leisure roles

Course Dates: Monday 7th April to Friday 2nd May 2025 (subject to minor changes)
