Doors Open Days 2025 – Dundee

Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old. Every September you can explore hundreds of fascinating buildings across Scotland for free. Some open up once a year, some just once in a lifetime.

Dundee is Weekend Four which is September 27th and 28th.

The theme for this year is ‘Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future which celebrates the rich diversity of buildings that surround us, exploring buildings and infrastructure of all styles and scales. Every village, town, and city has its own architectural heritage, reflecting local history, culture, and economies. Architectural heritage covers a wide expanse of styles and buildings, as such, the theme can be developed in various ways that reflect the different types of buildings and architectural styles. We are looking for both in-person and digital events, with some venues hosting both. The digital event can be new content or re-using digital content you have previously made.

The Taking Part guide has been updated and tells you (almost!) everything you would need to know about getting involved. The application form and process are the same as previous years – the deadline for applications is June 22nd 2025.
