Free Online Training on Child Age Benefits – Social Security Scotland

As part of Shelter Scotland’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the financial resilience and tenancy stability of individuals and families across Scotland, our HSBC project provides vital support in income maximisation, debt management, and guidance on benefits and financial obligations. Our team works closely with those experiencing severe financial hardship, many of whom struggle to meet their basic living expenses. We are pleased to announce that, in line with our capacity-building efforts, we will be offering targeted training sessions to further develop your team’s expertise.

We are excited to offer free online training on Child Age Benefits through Social Security Scotland. This session will cover a range of crucial topics, including Child Disability Payment, Best Start Grants, Scottish Child Payment, Child Winter Heating Payment, Young Carers Grant, The Baby Box, and case studies. A Q&A segment will also be included to address any specific queries, alongside an opportunity to share best practices and insights with one another. This session is relevant for anyone working in the UK and Scottish Social Security Space and/or whose work puts them into contact with families with children.

The online training will take place on Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th, and Wednesday 30th April 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Microsoft Teams. We would be delighted to invite you to participate. This training is designed to enhance awareness of the various child-related benefits available through Social Security Scotland and equip you with the knowledge to better support families in accessing the benefits they are entitled to.

Note that this is three different dates for the same training, so you only need to be free on one of the mornings.

If you are interested in joining the training, please kindly complete the registration form below to ensure we can tailor the session to your needs.
