About the event
Would you like to get involved in community-led climate action? Do you have big ideas about how to make positive changes in our community, climate, social or otherwise, but not sure where to start? Have you volunteered before and not felt valued, safe or supported? Or would you just like to meet other local people and be part of a growing community?
If you said yes to any of the above, then pop this date in your diary. The news coming from all corners of the world is really scary right now, and it’s easy to feel helpless and hopeless. Of course it won’t fix everything, but being part of something local, positive and full of people who share your values, can help more than you know. Make 2026 the year you started volunteering and never looked back!
Absolutely anyone is welcome to along to our informal information session, anytime between 5.30-7pm, on Thursday February 5th. Chat to current volunteers and staff to find out if any of our projects are of interest to you, there are a range of different front-facing or background possibilities to suit all. You could be helping to encourage people away from fast fashion in our charity shop, upcycling or repairing textiles, sifting through donations, in a field harvesting surplus strawberries, hosting or helping to run skill-share workshops, helping us to raise funds for our projects or other valuable causes, helping with governance, admin or marketing if that’s your thing… or if there’s something you’d like to see us doing and you’d like to help spearhead that, then come along and let’s chat – we are always open to ideas and to supporting new (or existing) initiatives.
