Earn & Learn – Modern Apprenticeship Opportunities

Applications are now open for ringfenced Earn & Learn Modern Apprenticeship Opportunities with Dundee City Council and Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce.

Earn and Learn Opportunities will support young people to achieve an SVQ in line with a Modern Apprenticeship Framework while in employment within one of our Discover Work partner organisations. Opportunities will be targeted towards those young people not in work, education or study with qualifications at SCQF Level 5 in areas such as Business Administration, Community Development, and Rural Skills (Environmental Conservation).
Successful customers will be supported with onboarding and an induction process, support from a Discover Work employability provider, peer-to-peer network, and a mentor and support from their employer.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Young person aged 16-24 (or up to 29 if disabled or Care Experienced)
  • Living in Dundee or attending a Dundee secondary school
  • 3 National 4 qualifications or equivalent
  • Interest in business, administration, finance, IT support, community or youth work, rural skills and environmental conservation
  • Have enthusiasm to learn on the job in an office environment
  • Must register or already be registered with a Discover Work Employability Provider (e.g., All in Dundee, Council Employability Services)

Candidates must complete the relevant application form for all opportunities they wish to be considered for. These application links will be shared with anyone completing the referral form above. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to interview.

Successful candidates will complete an SVQ 2 (SCQF Level 5) Modern Apprenticeship Framework with dedicated learning hours and in-work support. Candidates should be registered with an Employability Provider and will be supported to do so if they are not already.
