We are excited to announce that Creative Breaks is now OPEN for applications 2026-2027
A total of around £1.6 million is available for this round of Creative Breaks for 12-month grants for third sector organisations to deliver short breaks for unpaid carers of adults (aged 21 and over), young carers, and the people that they care for.
Funding is limited and Creative Breaks is likely to receive more applications than funding can cover. 71% of applicants were successful in 2025-2026.
Who can apply?
This funding is for third sector organisations operating in Scotland. The organisation needs to be an OSCR registered charity or a constituted organisation that has only charitable purpose(s) and that delivers public benefit. Timescales
Funded projects within this period may begin in October 2026 to run no later than September 2027.

If applicants meet eligibility, they will be informed of their outcome week commencing 24th August 2026, with project funding period starting 1st October 2026.
Grant holders will submit a mid-grant report 6 months into the funding period and a final grant impact report upon completion of the project.
