Missing People is a national charity that supports people who are missing, people who are thinking about going missing and families and friends who are affected by someone who has gone missing. In Scotland, our team work alongside Police Scotland, local authorities and third sector organisations to implement the National Missing Persons Framework through reviewing and updating policy, providing training for staff and guidance on best practice.
This year we have received funding to create a Lived Experience Advisory Group for Scotland on missing to consistently inform project activity where possible, and for the Scottish Government and professionals from local areas to consult with around The Framework and local practice. In this way, the Group would help to ensure that local and national policy and practice is more effective at preventing missing incidents and reducing repeat missing incidents and harm.
We are inviting people over the age of 18 living in Scotland who have experience of going missing and people who have a loved one who has gone missing to join our groups, the groups will meet every 4-6 weeks online. See below for more info.
