Enable Works – Next Steps employability programme

Next Steps employability programme

Enable Works is delivering, Next Steps, a six-week employability programme designed to support young people aged 16–24 who are not currently in employment or education and who have a disability or long-term health condition in Dundee. The programme combines weekly group sessions with personalised 1:1 support to help participants build confidence, develop employability skills, and progress towards positive destinations in work, training, or further education.

Participants gain practical skills and recognised qualifications through a range of tailored activities, including CV building, interview preparation, job searching support, workplace visits, money management, alcohol awareness training, and online safety training. The blended approach of group learning and individual coaching helps young people strengthen both the personal and practical skills needed to succeed in the workplace while also reducing social isolation and encouraging peer support.

Next Steps will also involve sector-focused delivery aligned to Scotland’s key growth industries, including Fintech, Green Skills, Digital Technology, Healthcare, Tourism, and Food & Drink. Delivered in partnership with employers and industry networks, the programme will provide sector-specific training, recognised qualifications, and personalised progression planning to ensure participants gain the skills, experience, and confidence required to meet current and future labour market opportunities.
