DIAS Vacancy – Independent Advocacy Worker (Substance Use Specific)

DIAS is seeking to appoint an Substance Use Specific Independent Advocacy Caseworker for 35 hours per week £21,840 a year – Full-time.

This post if funded for I year -possible extension if further funding can be secured

We are looking for a well-motivated and resilient person to join our team, (to work with those who have substance use dependency to help them address the barriers that they identify are limiting their well-being and recovery). This includes working with and supporting partnership organisations, both statutory & third sector, that provide support with people and their families living with alcohol or drug substance use.

You will be focussed, able to work with a wide range of different people, as well as an excellent communicator. Preferably, but not essential, to have some advocacy experience, as training will be provided.

You will need to have a flexible work attitude and be able to embrace change within our dynamic organisation. You will also have strong communication and time management skills and you will need to be fully computer literate.

The post is home working based

Terms of Employment

This post is currently for 35 hours per week, normally worked over 5 days . Some out of hours work may take place, but no additional payment will be made. The post holder will be expected to take time off in lieu (TOIL).

Annual leave will be 28 days including public holidays.

An Enhanced PVG Disclosure check will be required through Disclosure Scotland for the successful candidate.
