Dundee Pride are Recruiting Trustees

DUNDEE PRIDE is a registered charity.

Our mission is to take a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus (LGBTQ+) community and to progress LGBTQ+ equality, awareness and inclusion within Dundee and the region.

Our vision is to create a city and region where LGBTQ+ people have a strong sense of community, are a visible social group and can celebrate their history, activism and sexual and gender diversity.

Our aims are to advance citizenship and community development within the LGBTQ+ community in Dundee and to promote equality and diversity.

Each year we host Dundee Pride, a major celebration and festival for LGBTQ+ people and their allies. We also run a number of other events and projects each year to advance our charitable aims.

** DUNDEE PRIDE – TRUSTEE RECRUITMENT **

We require a full voluntary board of Trustees to provide leadership of the organisation in order for it to fulfil its aims for the communities that we serve.

We are looking to recruit additional Trustees to join our board and are particularly interested in those with experience in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Event Management
  • Hospitality
  • PR/Social Media
  • Community Education
  • Fundraising
  • Arts/Culture/Entertainment Programming and Production
  • Marketing and Communications
  • Legal

Being a Trustee is not just in name, it requires ongoing commitment, time and the capacity to participate in follow up activities and tasks in between meetings. It carries with it the full responsibility and accountability of a charity trustee.

Trustees meet monthly in a mixture of in person and online contexts where they progress and plan the strategic and required governance of the charity and its activities.

There are also sub-groups which support the various projects that the charity is involved in with Trustees assigned to various task groups/projects.

HOW TO APPLY

If you are interested in joining the Board of Trustees of Dundee Pride then please prepare a submission in the first instance (no more than one side A4) outlining your interest in the role and the skills and competencies you would bring to Dundee Pride.  Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to meet with a number of Dundee Pride Trustees in an interview context.  Successful applicants will receive a full induction in January 2024.

Please send completed submissions to Secretary Kenny Christie kenny.christie@dundeepride.com no later than 12 noon, Friday 17th November
