DVVA wins UK Digital Leaders 100 Award

#DigiDundee by Dundee Volunteer & Voluntary Action has won a UK Digital Leaders 100 Award for grass roots organisations providing digital support in the community. The Craig Macdonald Memorial Prize was presented to #DigiDundee Coordinator Dr Fi Williams on 6th September at DVVA offices. The prize means DVVA can offer it’s service for anyone struggling for digital access in the community for longer than planned.

#DigiDundee is about widening access to digital. Working with libraries & community centres, DVVA provides devices & classes for people who are digitally excluded. Staffed by PVG checked volunteers, they tackle digital poverty in the areas of education, employability & health care.

The UK Digital Leaders 100 Awards recognise individuals and organisations who demonstrate a pioneering and sustainable approach to digital transformation across the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Dr Fi Williams, Coordinator of #DigiDundee said

‘We are delighted to receive recognition through this UK wide Award and passionate about helping more people use online services in our community. The prize money means we can offer our service for longer than expected and help more people access online services.’
