The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has announced that from 30 June 2025, all Scottish charities will be required to begin submitting detailed trustee information through the OSCR Online portal. This change is part of the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023.
As part of this update, the first and last names of charity trustees will be made publicly available on the Scottish Charity Register from late 2025. No other trustee details will appear on the Register unless a charity chooses to include them in its annual reports and accounts, which will also begin to be published in full from late 2025. This change is intended to improve transparency and build greater public trust in the charitable sector.
