Help Plan Dundee Pride Festival 2024

DUNDEE PRIDE is a registered charity.

Our mission is to take a positive stance against discrimination and violence toward the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, plus (LGBTQ+) community and to progress LGBTQ+ equality, awareness and inclusion within Dundee and the region.

Our vision is to create a city and region where LGBTQ+ people have a strong sense of community, are a visible social group and can celebrate their history, activism and sexual and gender diversity.

Our aims are to advance citizenship and community development within the LGBTQ+ community in Dundee and to promote equality and diversity.

Each year we host Dundee Pride, a major celebration and festival for LGBTQ+ people and their allies. We also run a number of other events and projects each year to advance our charitable aims.

** PRIDE EVENT GROUP RECRUITMENT **

After a gap of three years Dundee Pride Festival returned in 2023 with a full, in-person event in Slessor Gardens and a march through the city centre. We are committed to delivering an event in June 2024 and are looking for a volunteer team to help plan this.

Public events such as this take a huge amount of voluntary time in designing, organising, fundraising and co-ordination.  We are looking to build upon the momentum of the 2023 event and build an even bigger and more improved Dundee Pride Festival next year.

To that end we would like to recruit a big thinking and committed PRIDE EVENT GROUP to support the delivery of Dundee Pride 2024.  This group will help to create, inform and bring together ideas along with preparing callouts for entertainment, commercial and community involvement and festival design.

The Pride Event Group will directly inform the planning of the 2024 public events in June and report to the Board of Trustees of Dundee Pride.

There is no remuneration for involvement in the Pride Event Group.

If you think you have some ideas and would like to help, would like to be involved or find out more about the Pride Event Group then please get in touch by contacting Trustee and Secretary Kenny Christie: kenny.christie@dundeepride.com
