LIFT OFF are looking for students to come help us out with some of our events!
We are an organisation that works senior phase pupils (S4-S6) in high schools across Fife and Tayside who have barriers to Higher and further education.
Our cohorts of pupils tend to be from backgrounds of low income, deprivation, are young carers or care experienced, from schools of low progression and have disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD etc so were looking for anybody who has a passion for sharing their experience or wants to help and support young people to aspire to achieve!
We are aiming for Uni students mainly, but we are open to anyone studying a HNC/D in college who are keen! It doesn’t matter what year they are in or what subject they are studying – all are welcome.
We offer events such as school visits, UCAS/ Personal statement workshops, Campus visits and lastly, a paid opportunity for active volunteers in the summer for our Summer School.
We will train all our vols up so no previous experience working with young people required.
The volunteering opportunity will also help students build key skills such as leadership development as we often let our student vols lead a group of young people at our bigger events!
We have two big campus days coming up which involves a day out at Napier University on the 5th February and St. Andrews University the following week of Monday 9th February.
