Suicide Awareness for Everyone – 18th March – Spaces Still Available

There are still spaces available on the Suicide Awareness for Everyone session taking place on Wednesday 18th March from 10am – 1pm at Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action. This session is free and suitable for anyone in the community, including volunteers and practitioners who would like a introductory knowledge of how to have supportive conversations with someone at risk of suicide.

SESSION INFORMATION

This half day workshop aims to raise awareness of mental health, and suicide prevention. The workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to have compassionate conversations with people who are experiencing distress or may be feeling suicidal, and how to connect them with the appropriate support.

We will cover:

  • What affects our mental health and ways to support people to have good mental health.
  • Signs that someone might be in distress or thinking about suicide.
  • How you can support someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and connect them with appropriate support.
