The Food Train, a leading nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting older people to live independently within their own communities, proudly announces its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of meaningful impact, community service, and positive change. The Food Train leads the way in Scotland providing older people with vital support accessing their weekly shopping, reducing the burden on family, friends and carers and promoting independence with choice, flexibility and easy access. It offers a variety of supportive volunteering opportunities to people of all age and walks of life.
Since its founding in 1995, The Food Train has grown from a grassroots initiative into a trusted community pillar, serving over 3,000 individuals and partnering with a range of other voluntary organisations across Dundee and Scotland. The 30th anniversary serves as a milestone to honour past achievements and rally support for continued efforts into the next
generation.
