The Inclusion Group Vacancy – Executive Director

Executive Director

Dundee (office based) | £55,000

The Inclusion Group is a charity that provides service across the Dundee area to children and adults with additional support needs and learning disabilities.

The charity was founded in 1994 by a group of parents and professionals who wanted to see more inclusive, mainstream opportunities for children and young people with additional support needs. Over the years the organisation has extended its range to include adults with additional support needs and learning disabilities and has expanded from one which dealt with a small number of service users to one that provides for the support needs for upwards of 60 people. Their aim is to promote and secure improvement in the quality, choices, and access to enabling activities, community support and care to allow service users to feel equal, included, and independent.

We are now looking for an Executive Director to lead and transform the organisation through the next stage of its development as it continues to expand and deliver its services.  The priority will be to redesign the service operations model and organisational structure to make it fit for future success.  You should therefore have demonstrable experience in organisational change and transformation.

In addition to having transformation, management, and leadership skills, you should be experienced in community based social care service delivery and rota management.  We’re looking for someone that can demonstrate credibility with families, professionals, staff, and commissioners, and can confidently lead and organise the service to deliver the inclusive service the charity is seeking in the world we all live in.

Naturally, as a strong figurehead and inspirational leader of the charity, you will have significant experience in developing and delivering business plans and strategies, robust knowledge of charity governance, contract compliance, the ability to build rewarding partnerships with stakeholders and funders whilst having the organisational, financial, and solid people management knowledge.

A typical day is unlikely but contact with staff, service users, families, board members, partners, commissioners, and regulators, combined with periods of concentrated analytical work with a focus on customer care, quality and financial control and planning would feature regularly.  If you find great satisfaction in having contact with service users, working with highly motivated peers and a driven and supportive board, this role could be for you.  Please get in touch to find out more.
